Robert, schoolmaster, Ipswich, propritor 1635; removed to Boston, 1644; 50 li. appropriated for his salary 11 January 1650; lived in the town's house in 1652. Mr. Daniel Henchman was engaged to assist him in the grammar school 26 March 1666. Gave land in Ipswich to Joseph Emerson as a marriage portion with his daughter elizabeth, which they sold 14 September 1652. He sold rest of his farm at Ipswich 18 October 1655.
His will dated 5 July 1667, inventory taken 18 September, probated 15 November 1667. Estate left to wife Margaret and two daughters Martha and Bethia; refers to written inventory and directions there given.

The Last Will and testament of Mr. Robert Woodmansey, being weake of body but off A disposing mind and having before me the thoughts of my departure out off this world. Concerning my little estate I have left vnto me, which lyeth in monyes, debts and Household stuff, and is speicified in An Inventorie, I dispose off it to my wife, Margarett, and my two daughters Martha and Bathia. I bequeath one halfe to my said two daughters, the rest vnto my wife, excepting some perticulers which I have caused to be putt into writing and to be disposed off by my said Executrix according to my said desire therin. That this is my will I acknowledge by my hand seale herevnto Put, this 5th day of July 1667.
