John Crowe

John was born circa 1638 at Charlestown, Suffolk, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of John Crowe and Elishua NN----. He married Mehitable Miller before 1662 at Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.2,3
John Crowe resided at Nobsusset and was called after the death of his father Senior to distinguish him from John Crow, son of Yelverton Crowe. His estate was settled at the Prerogative Court held in Barnstable, 6 March 1688. His chldren then living are named in the settlement.

[p. 26] At the Prerogative Court held at Barnstable 6 March, 1688/9, "the Estate of mr John Crow Snr Late of yarmouth deceased" was settled as follows: "John Crow the Eldest Son .... to have and Injoy the house and all the Lands .... after the death of his mother mehittable Crow and the sd mehitable Crow to have and Injoy the third part there of during her natural Life and thre pounds In Apparrel to Samuel Crow the Son of sd deceased and Just debts being paid the sd mehittable the relict of sd deceased to have the third part of the Rest of the Estate: mehittable Crow and Lidya Crow the Daughters of sd deceased having had alredy considerable of theirs the other two thirds of his personal estat to be equally devided between his Children Samuel Crow Jeremiah Crow Elizabeth Crow Susanna Crow and Hannah Crow and the sd John Crow the Son of sd deceased to pay out of his owne estate the Sum of twenty Shillings to Thomas Toby grand Son of sd deceased within a twelve month after the date above writen and to his sd Brother Samuel Crow the sum of forty Shillings presently after the marriage or death of the sd mehittable Crow his Mother"
