Capt Isaac Johnson1

M, b. 1610, d. 1675
     Capt Isaac Johnson was born in 1610. He was the son of John Johnson and Mary Heath.2 Capt Isaac Johnson married Elizabeth Potter, daughter of Adrian Potter and Elizabeth Allott/Allett, on 20 January 1636 at Roxbury, MA.3 Capt Isaac Johnson began military service in 1675 Johnson was appointed captain of the Ancient and Honourable Artillery Company in 1667, and during King Philip's War (1675-1676) he led the Roxbury Company in the Narrangansett Expedition. He was killed in action at the head of his company at the battle known as the "Great Swamp Fight." He died in 1675; was killed by the Indians while commanding his company at the taking of Fort Narragansett 19 Dec. 1675.3
